*Here is a couple of funny stories about something that happened to me.

Story One-

Once when some of our baby goats were still being bottle fed, we had some milk replacer that we gave to them. I was making up some milk replacer and we had the bag of replacer out in our garage, we had been having problems with mice getting in the bag. So I was scooping out a scoop of   replacer and Susannah said teasingly "There’s a mouse in there".  I brought the filled scoop in the house and set it on the counter. After I had my water boiling I dumped my scoop of replacer in, and I started screaming! It so happened that there was a mouse in the scoop when I scooped up some replacer. He was riding around in the bottom of the scoop, and stayed there until I dumped him into boiling water!  Thankfully he did not jump out of the pan. So I killed the mouse by dumping him in boiling water, and not even the cats wanted him because he was too hot!  πŸ˜€

Story two-

Do you know what it feels like to be hit in the head with a pitch fork?  I was doing my evening chores and I was scooping (what is it about scoops?:D) out feed from the feed  barrel. It so happened that a pitch fork was right beside the barrel, leaning against the wall, and I stepped on the fork part of it.  I started to lean down to  scoop some food out and all of the sudden, WHAM!!! Right on the side of my head the handle of the pitch fork hit me! It sure did hurt, but within  a few minutes the pain was gone. So even if I didn’t want to know what it felt like to be hit in the head with a pitch fork,  I got to find out. I guess it makes  for nice stories. πŸ˜€

Oh, I'd love to enter! I was just thinking to myself that I would love to make some little dresses to put in my hope chest, and this is simply beautiful!! (not to mention it was made by wonderful girls! πŸ˜‰ Again, I was soooo blessed to have been able to meet you this summer!)

Something funny that's happened to me…hmmm…oh I know! I decided to make cookies a few years ago (back when I didn't know a THING about cooking/baking!) and they were SO not sweet (I must've forgotten to put in the right amount of sugar?) so I decided to make a glaze for them. *coughs* W-e-l-l…I had no recipe, so I just figured you put sugar and water on the stove. Didn't work. Went through about a whole bag of sugar and it was STILL runny! So I put in cream cheese…and asked my sister to stir it, thinking it would be totally fine. She started *choking* and I looked over to the pot to see what the problem was. She started making all these funny faces and said "Ummm….I'm not eating this." "Why?" asks I. "Because….IT LOOKS LIKE BABY SPIT-UP!!" My face turned to a look of horror as I realized the cream cheese WOULD NOT melt, and it was just little hunks of it floating around in the runny sugar.

Needless to say, we tossed that out. lol And then the next week, when I was telling this story to a family we know, I was quite embarrassed that after I finished talking, the son of the family chirped up the correct recipe FROM MEMORY for a sugar glaze.

After that I decided I would learn more about cooking/baking!!!! LOL!!!!

    Hugs!

    Miss Toria

… that I don't have a reason to win this jumper, because it sure is cute! But it would be rather silly to win something that neither I nor any of my brothers could wear:D! I must say that you did a very nice job, though; and you're right, those pictures are very cute!

When I turned 16 I invited the bagel lover to my dinner party at a local authentic Italian restaurant. Granted the bagel lover never met my family so we ( a friend and I) decided to tell the bagel lover that my uncle was gay and made the bagel lover sit next to him in the van. Granted no one knew our evil scheme so my uncle being very relaxed crossed his legs and put his arm behind the bagel lover's head. As you can imagine my friend and I were in hysterics and the bagel lover was scared! I mean scared! When we did go out to eat the poor bagel lover was overwhelmed because he was not use to nice restaurants or with ordering Italian food. After he placed his order with " whatever she just ordered sounds good" we finished the meal and out the door we went to rent some movies( that is before I knew better.) As my friend and I and the bagel lover where walking down the street my slip which was to big fell down around my ankles! With one quick scoop I grabbed it and stuffed in my pocket. Boy, were they laughing. So you see God has a sense of humor. He humbled me that day! And the bagel lover and I have been laughing ever since.

Our favorite zucchini recipe is posted at our family blog in the archives under the August. It can be a complete dinner by itself or add cooked chicken breast. Also, we love zucchini dinner rolls. They are so tender and moist.

I also posted a scenic picture with my post about this giveaway (www.theknightsfairmaiden.blogspot.com). I took it while a friend was visiting and we had gone to a lovely park near us. It's right on the ocean. When I took this picture, I couldn't see if it turned out good because the sun was so bright. But when I got it home and looked through them, I was amazed at how beautiful it turned out.

The last comment was me too. I keep forgetting to sign my name.

Anyway, I don't know if this qualifies as a recipe, but last week I came up with this "recipe" because my husband and I wanted lots of veggies with our meal that night.

I chopped and boiled Carrots, Parsnips, Turnips, 1 Sweet Potato, and a couple potatoes until they were soft. Then I drained them, added some butter and mashed them all together. It was VERY good and my guests that evening all loved it too (even the young man who doesn't like his vegetables touching each other). It was very easy and can be a great way to use up the left over veggies in your fridge from other recipes. I'm sure you could use just a couple of veggies or several, and it would still taste good. I've even mashed up broccoli before, and I bet broccoli and potatoes mashed together would be really good.

Hi, Cassia! The jumper is LOVELY…but, as I have 2 teenage sons, I won't enter the contest…but have FUN! And know that your sewing is admired πŸ™‚

I HAVE been hit in the head with a handle, but of a rake or shovel, not a pitchfork. Good thing it wasn't the tines of the fork that hit your head!

As for the mouse story, UGH. I'm not much on boiled mice! I did, a month ago, lift the fabric-y cover off of our gas grill to cook dinner, and discovered that a mama mouse had made a little nest right there on the control panel, and she was there with 2 baby mice attached to her, nursing away…I didn't have the heart to kill a nursing momma with babies, so when she ran off (the babies fell from her, but survived), I took the nest and put it on the ground away from my grill (!), and scopped up the babies with a plastic spoon and put them next to the nest. I watched for an hour, off and on, and finally when I checked the babies were not visible, and the next seemed to be rocking a bit, so I think the momma came back and found them (they were squeaking like crazy!). I'm sure some cat or owl has eaten them by now…

    God Bless,

    Mrs. Havens (aka Plans4You)

a couple years back i was making christmas sugar cookies with the siblings and we decorated them, baked them, took off the pans and everyone took a big bite. then we realized what we had forgotten in the cookies. SUGAR!!!

well, they looked pretty at least. and for once, we actually had cookies out on a platter on christmas day. most of time cookies dont last long enough!

Ok a funny story that happened to me.

hmm lets see I know plenty of things have happened but i cant think of one! Well here is a small one:

I was running out toward the barn to do my chores and I was wearing my usual elastic band skirt and then one of lovely dogs just had to come and jump on it and it almost wnet down! Luckaly I had a slip type thing underneath but that has happened to me quite a few times!

I am so sorry I cant think of anything better! I know there is more that has happened but I really cant recall! again I am sorry. I hope this works!

Also I am again terribly sorry – i am not very good to enter contest things am I? : ) – I dont have a vegitable recipe to give you – I dont really cook all that much in the kitchen and if I do its sweets! I do know how to cook but there are just to amyn "Cooks in the kitchen" so I usually let my older sister do it. I can tell you that I do the corn when we have that but thats all. Sorry!

And this adorable dress probably wouldnt fit me but it would my younger sister so that is why I am entering! I did post about it so you can go look at it on my blog! And I told 3 friends too! And when i first saw it i thought "Yay another one!! : )"

    God bless!

    Love in Christ

    My recipe entry –

    The Dixon's {Creamy} Corn Dish

1 12 oz. bag frozen corn

1 8 oz. package cream cheese

    4 tbsps. butter

    1/2 cup sour cream

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Put corn in a bake-safe pan. Cut cream cheese into cubes and put on top of corn. Then cut butter into small pieces and put on top of corn. Put the corn/cream cheese/butter into oven and let melt and stir it occasionally. When the cream cheese and the butter is all melted, add in the sour cream and put back in oven. When it is done, stir it just before serving.

This will be going on my soon, with photos.
