It has been a while since we’ve done a “regular-just-stuff-we’re-doing” post it seems like…and it’s even been a while since we’ve posted anything really!

Today after church, we came home, ate lunch, and crashed, or if you were a little person, you went and played with the phone set that was our grandma’s but isn’t really hooked up properly yet!

I was peacefully sitting on the living room couch readingย when Leah comes in and cuddled up under a bunch of blankets on a mattress on the floor, left over from a sleep over we had with some friends this past weekend.ย  We continued to sit there peacefully, until I had the idea to listen in on the younger girls’ conversations.ย  ๐Ÿ˜€ย  The phone base was in the living room, and if I pushed on the speaker phone button, I could hear everything they were saying.ย  It was quite entertaining, I must say–Leah and I were laughing and laughing!ย ย  They found out later that we had been eavesdropping ๐Ÿ˜€

Then the girls let the boys have the phones.ย  That was funny, too!ย  I pushed a button that you usually use for paging the phone, or for intercom, so that their phone would ring on the other side of the house.ย  I could hear them giggle and talk about it doing it ‘all by itself’ ๐Ÿ˜€

At some point both of the boys were in the living room, having me change the ringtones (why did I show them that?!).ย  They also like to sit close enough to each other that the phones start squealing…YIKES!

Then Anna came into the room and started picking on Leah by jerking all the nice warm blankets off of her.ย  Noah came to Leah’s rescue, and pretty soon Anna was on the floor begging for mercy as each of the boys had one of her feet, tickling them, and Leah was on top of her, tickling Anna and not letting her go anywhere.ย  I eventually joined in on the fun ๐Ÿ˜€

We finally let Anna go, only to realize that she was getting reinforcements!ย  She came downstairs with Bekah and Charissa and it was hilarious to see the boys taking down Charissa while Leah and I were busy with Anna and Bekah!

We finally decided to stop when Noah accidentally got smacked in the stomach…not good!ย  I asked Charissa to tell Noah she was sorry and ask him if he was dying.ย  She started to giggle, “Oh brother!ย  Noah, are you going to die?!”

Then Noah started giggling, “Oh brother! No!”

We got a cute picture of Isaiah with his own “surround sound” ๐Ÿ˜€ย  I tried it out, and it really is like hearing yourself in surround sound…interesting!

Then there are other things we’ve been doing…like Christmas!

I LOVEย December, I LOVE snow, and I LOVE Christmas!ย  There are so many good memories and fun traditions that we do and I love it when everything feels “Christmasy” ๐Ÿ˜€

Yesterday the four of us oldest girls and Mommy were background music for our town’s chamber of commerceย Christmas.

ย

“Santa” and his wife were also there…lol!

The grocery store’s tree ๐Ÿ˜€

The library’s tree…

…aren’t the ornaments cute?! ๐Ÿ˜€ย  There was one ornament with a book on it called, “How Not to Act Like a Little Old Lady” ๐Ÿ˜€ย  I have no idea what exactly the book was all about (other than how not to act like a little old lady) but the title was funny!

It has been snowing!!!ย  Did I mention that I like snow?!ย  Daddy also got the icicle lights up this past Friday ๐Ÿ˜€

Us, with our 2010 tree ๐Ÿ˜€ย  We took so long to pick it out, we were shivering cold!ย  It is a little short on some people’s accounts (mine being one of them) but it has ‘grown’ on us and we all like it muchly!

Daddy and Mommy are the chief hander-outers of the ornaments ๐Ÿ˜€

Mommy always lines up the ornaments by which year we got them…we bought this one the year we bought our house (:ย  It even has a little ‘window seat’ upstairs, just like our house does!

A neighbor gave these ornaments to us a while ago…they are made from olive wood in Israel, and when you line all twelve of them up, they tell the Christmas story.

Bekah, with her icicle ornament ‘earrings’ ๐Ÿ˜€

“I need a stool to reach low.”

Bekah signing the paper airplane that we started in 2002 ๐Ÿ˜€ย  Every time we put up or take down the tree, everyone signs their name and age on it and then we stick it in the tree ๐Ÿ˜€

The tree, all decorated (:

Putting up the icicles lights in the sunroom…

Our lovely supper…the night that we finished decorating the house.ย  Everything really does feel Christmasy now!

Hopefully you all aren’t bored out of your minds with this long post ๐Ÿ˜€ย  I was peacefully sitting in this here computer chair when Susannah comes walking into the room and realizes what I’m posting about…”What?!ย  I was going to do a post!ย  And those are my pictures!”ย ย  Oopsies! I guess that when it rains it pours!

Well, we negotiated, I left out a picture, and Susannah will give you a different perspective, and probably a more detailed account of our decorating, etc. ๐Ÿ˜€

Great Post! A couple of things really laughed…first Santa with his enormous beard!! (just his eyes poking out! ๐Ÿ™‚ ).

Also, oh my goodness it sounds like our family’s had similar tree-cutting experiences this year! I am from Michigan and the day we went it was so so so so so cold! Also, we tried a new tree farm this year and they seriously did not have even 1 good tree! (after very high reviews online it turned out we had visited their “new” field). So after a long drive and braving the cold for over an hour we finally bought a tree that had been shipped in from the western-side of the state (we live on the east side) that is pretty short too. But, it has grown on me as well ๐Ÿ™‚ I think once you decorate it and get caught up in the Christmasness, it is just hard to not like!

Oh dear! Yes, I think we were out for about an hour, too! We’ve gone to this tree farm for a few years now, and they seem to be ‘running out’ of nice tall trees that don’t look like they’re having a bad hair day! ๐Ÿ˜€

I really enjoyed the pictures of your home all dressed up for Christmas and the last picture of your beautiful big dining table. All set for a warm and cozy dinner! I can just smell the delicious dinner! Ooops…I think that may be mine about to burn in the oven! Gotta go!

    Blessings,
    Maureen
