(We’ve been taking lots of Christmas pictures, and Christmas posts will be forthcoming! In the meantime, enjoy our camping adventures!!!)
A few months ago, some friends invited us to come and camp at their house 🙂 Our Autumn was especially busy, so we weren’t able to come camping until October 18th. We thought it might be too cold, but it ended up being fairly nice!
They had a very neat campsite that they had made in their woods, complete with a fire place 🙂
After we had dinner in the warm house, we brought all our stuff to the tents and started a fire! And that fire was my friend for the rest of the night 😉 (because I was cold, and it was warm!!) haha!
Anna S. (our friend) checking out the goodies 🙂

Audrey, our official light holder, and cat shoo-er 😉
They made a bunch of yummy snacks! But we didn’t just have sugar, we had veggies too! 😉 And really we didn’t have sugar at all…they made all of the sweets with honey, and they were oh-so-good! Notice the marshmallows in the bowl? We tried making honey-marshmallows once, and they weren’t near as fluffy and good as these!
Sometime during the evening, all of us but Cassia went back to the house for something. So when we came back, we went around a different way, behind the campsite, in hopes of scaring Cassia 😀 But unfortunately, she did not get scared…I guess we weren’t scary enough!
It was slightly raining, so they put up a tarp over our campsite. You would think that the fire would melt the tarp, but it didn’t 😀 It DID however become very smoky, so every once in awhile we’d stick our heads on the outside of the tarp to escape the smoke 😀
We had SO much fun!
Cassia in the spotlight 😀
And then we got our instruments out that we brought! It was so much fun playing and singing around the fire! And after playing, we just sat by the fire, talking, telling jokes, laughing (a lot!) and more talking!
The next morning, Anna S. (both of our names are Anna!) woke me up by saying I missed the pretty part of the sunrise, but that I should still get up and go shoot!!! It was so pretty! Especially with the silhouette of the barn and silo.
It was such a pretty morning!
Note to self though, don’t wear these shoes camping again! 🙂
They had a really cool tree house! We didn’t climb the tree to get into the tree house because the trees were very sappy 😉
Our campsite. We stayed quite cozy and dry even though it rained! Our friends gave the four of us the big tent, and then the three of them somehow, in some mysterious way, managed to squeeze into the little tent!!! We offered to have them come into ‘our’ tent, but they said they were fine 😀
We had a delicious breakfast out over the fire…campfires make everything taste even better!
We had a good laugh over this! They put Susannah’s cup higher than the rest of ours because she was so tall 😉
Yummy sausages over the fire…mmm!
Our little visitor who kept trying to steal our breakfast!
Laurel did an amazing job with breakfast! Sausage, hot apple cider, pancakes and eggs!
Our stretched out reflection;)
The delicious breakfast…

And after breakfast clean up (we washed dishes outside!), making lunch and eating lunch on the go, it was time for us to leave…which was very sad!
See? The sky was even crying!
Thank you Anna, Laurel and Audrey for such a delightful time! We hope we can do it again (once the weather warms up, that is!) 😀
Hi, so I know you get asked this all the time, but how tall is Susannah? People consider me tall but I feel like Susannah is a lot taller then I am. I’m 6.2″ and growing…
Well Anna,I think you have me beat! I am “only” 6.1 🙂 we joke around about my height a lot, so there is probably some exaggeration going on most of the time 🙂
Susannah
Thank u for inviting us into your little campsite world! It was like I was there. Lol. Great pics.
You’re welcome, Bridget! Glad you enjoyed it 😀 😀 😀
