YAY! Our room is finally done! Daddy was able to remodel it this year. *happy dance* So…here comes all 2,300 and 5 pictures..ok, not THAT many πŸ™‚

These are the pictures before it got tore out…mold, torn wall paper, no insulation, it wasn’t much fun to live in.Β  A few winters ago when it was really cold, our blankets froze to the wall that has the big window πŸ˜€Β  There was hardly any of the old insulation in that wall anymore and it got cold enough one night that it froze!Β  We had to use hair dryers to thaw them out πŸ˜€Β  Daddy then put insulation board up there to keep that from happening again!

What we used for our closet while our room was being remodeled…a bar out in the garage πŸ™‚

And our closet now.

Rebuilding the wall (and turning the formerly wasted space into a close and bookshelf!)

Putting in new insulation

Drywalling

Bekah in action for priming.

All primed!

And now for the color! Β I wanted aqua, Bekah wanted purple and Charissa wanted pink…we decided to do the walls aqua with purple and pink flowers so we could have some of all our favorite colors.

We were super excited to get some color on the walls πŸ™‚ Like really excited!

The floor after all the painting πŸ˜€

My artistic work, hehe!

We used the stemmed allium flower, and butterfly stencils from Cutting Edge Stencils.Β  PLUS they send you a little free stencil with your order! A very fun surprise.

And we did the butterflies on the ‘window’ above our door. It was painted shut for the longest time, but we decided to have it open for air flow.

And our wonderful window seat..a great place to curl up with a book…and tea if it’s cold out side πŸ™‚Β  Β  The seat didn’t used to open, it was just more wasted space.

Until we,Β  inspired by Pinterest, and thanks to Daddy who can do amazing things like this, we have a little storage space under the window seat…I love it!

Our cousin Cati does some really neat wall art, so she did these for usβ™₯

CARPET!!!

Our lovely book shelf πŸ˜€

We got the lower picture from our friend who is amazing at drawing! You can (and should!) visit her website :here:.Β  I love, love her work!

I saw this quote when we went to the lake cottage up in Michigan, and I liked it so much I asked Leah to make me a version of it on my chalkboard πŸ™‚

Ahh, I’m SO happy to have a ‘new’ room πŸ™‚ Β How do you like it?

What a clever Daddy you have, very much like my own husband who can turn his hand to anything (he built our own house). You are all very clever and have now a beautiful, cosy bedroom, you all took part in creating it which is fantastic. Lovely, lovely!! Hope you will all enjoy it πŸ™‚

Wow, that’s beautiful! I love the stencils you chose, and the aqua color πŸ™‚ The built-ins are a great idea πŸ™‚
Also love the triple bed…looks like you took two headboards and footboards on it…would love to know how that’s built!

      Thank you Mrs. Havens πŸ™‚
The bed is actually two twin beds (that can also be stacked as bunks). We pushed them together and stuffed comforters down in the ‘crack’ between the two mattresses to make it more comfortable πŸ™‚

Very pretty! I have a question though, is the bed two twin beds put together? Does that mean one person sleeps between the two mattresses on the “crack”?

Lol, yes! We stuffed big comforters in the crack to make it comfortable πŸ™‚ We used to have a bunk with a double bed on the bottom, but we like it this way better πŸ™‚

    Hi girls!

    Pretty room!
I was wondering: Why do you all sleep in one bed? When I saw pics of one of the older girls’ bedrooms I also noticed that they share a bed.
I know young kids often share beds, but teenagers or women in their mid-twenties?
Wouldn’t you rather have your own bed?

    Greetings,
    C

No, we absolutely love sharing beds πŸ™‚ It takes up less space in the room than having separate beds, and it’s a lot more fun for all of our late night talks πŸ˜€
