During the end of June we had some wonderful visitors…the Forsters from Wisconsin! Karen had bought a skirt from our Etsy shop a few years ago, and she and Leah wrote back and forth for a while. They had went on vacation down South and were coming back home near us, so we got to visit with them for a weekend 😀
We had lots of fun visiting and talking 🙂
Charissa, Bekah and Victoria made our supper one night 🙂
And we had a few games of Dutch Blitz
We showed them our barn swing and visited some more out in the barn.
Rachel, Sarah and Susannah
Daniel, Noah, Isaiah, Victoria and Josiah waiting for their turn on the barn swing 🙂
All of the ‘kids’ at suppertime 🙂
Playing Foursquare
Another game of Imaginiff…this was quite fun 😀
Saturday night there was a game of ‘Four on a Couch’ in the living room…
…while some of us talked in the kitchen (watching Cassia prepare breakfast for Sunday morning 😀 )
The best game ever was one that the Forsters introduced us to…a photo scavenger hunt. This game was TONS of fun, and we all really started warming up to each other as we were doing it 😀
Each team gets a paper with different things they need to capture on camera:
1. everybody playing an instrument
2. everyone by a clock at 6:00
3. spell out the word ‘HUNT’
4. the team with an animal
5. the team cleaning the kitchen
6. playing an active sport together
7. act out a Bible verse
8. portraying ‘Sympathy’
9. ‘Can you find us?’
Extra points:
1. everyone wears glasses
2. the photographer is in the picture
3. everyone wears hats
And soooo…we’re posting the results of our scavenger hunt 😀
Team #1: everyone playing an instrument
Team #2
Team 1: Everyone by the clock at 6:00
Team #2: we teased them that they cheated…we found out that they turned the clock back because they accidentally missed 6:00 😀 But theirs was really cute! [note the hats]
Team #1: Spell out ‘HUNT’
Team #2
Team #1: The team with an animal. Don’t freak out…RePete the Goose was not harmed and the gun doesn’t work anymore 😀 We like him too much to get rid of him 😀 [note the glasses]
Team #2: They were much more sweet about their picture 😀
Team #1: Cleaning the kitchen
Team #2 [note that Anna, the photographer, is in this one]
Team #1: Playing an active sport [baseball is a good reason to sneak in our bonus points with the hats!]
Team #2: [note the sunglasses 😀 ]
Team #1: Act out a Bible verse. Can you guess which one?! [note that we had our photographer, Josiah, in the picture…bonus points!]
Team #2: Act out a Bible verse. How about this one?!
Team #1: Showing ‘Sympathy’. We enjoyed getting the ketchup out for the ‘blood’ 😀
Team #2: Sympathy
Team #1: Can you find us?!
Team #2
So now, for fun, we’ve put up some polls on the sidebar–it might be easier to scroll and vote that way–do you want to vote on your favorites??? 😀
I’m thinking this could be a fun activity to do online, too. You know…you take pictures and post them, and we take pictures and post them, and we get them all together and compare. Wouldn’t that be fun?! 😀
We were sad when Sunday came around and it was time for the Forsters to leave and we wished that we could have a few more days with them! We took a picture with everybody together before they headed home and said goodbye, telling each other that if we were near them or they were near us again to be sure and stop by 😀 It was a delightful weekend!

I just love your blog! Keep up the good work!
So glad to see some posts coming in! I’ve missed reading about all of you! Looks like you had a really busy summer. The scavenger hunt looks really fun! That ketchup looks pretty realistic too!
Oh what a fun time that was!!! Thank you all so much again! It really was sad when we had to leave and say goodbye. Yes, it was a delightful weekend indeed! So glad it worked for us to visit! The photo scavenger hunt sure was a blast! Hey, is it against the rules for team members to vote? 🙂 Looking forward to seeing more people’s votes!
Karen (for all of us) 🙂
Nope, it’s not against the rules…vote away! 😀 😀 It was SO much fun having you guys over! 🙂
♥hugs!
Jessica
That looks like so much fun. We did something like that last fall except it was spread out at different placed and we were timed. How many children is there.
That is fun! Our friends have 7 children, but their oldest is married, so 6 of them got to come 🙂 🙂

OOOh, it looked like there might have been more. 😀
That looks like a lot of fun!
Hahaha! These photos were so much fun. Especially your facial expressions, Jessica!! My absolute, laugh-out-loud one was the with an animal. So funny!
Was team two’s acting out a Bible verse the one about Daniel eating his greens? Or living in peace with each other? I’m not sure about team two – maybe not sewing old fabric onto new??
Thanks for a fun read!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for your new posts! I really missed hearing about what you have been up to. You are a beautiful family and the joy you share through your blog always makes me smile.
I wish I had grown up in a family like yours. You are so blessed.

You guys are so much fun! I loved team # 2’s showing sympathy photo! What a great family, thanks for sharing .
Hello!
I just found your blog and am greatly enjoying reading about your family. This photo scavenger hunt looks like a super fun game! While my five, soon to be six, children are younger (11 and under), I still think this would be a great game to play with friends. Thank you for sharing! You all have a beautiful family.
