Quote of the Week

Your life is hid with Christ. You have no time of your own, no money of your own; Christ must become your complete Master.

The Moody Family

book series by Sarah Maxwell

Anna, Bekah and Charissa really enjoy Sarah’s books…not only are they fun to read, but also edifying.  Bekah and Charissa talk about them almost like the Moody’s are their friends 😀

Sacred Singleness

by Leslie Ludy

Though I am just like any other girl who wants to be married and have a family someday, I have been happy with being single at this time.  Leslie Ludy’s book changed that…now I’m excited to be single 😀  I think much of her book applies to the Christian in general, not just single young ladies.  I read a library copy, but I loved it so much I now want to buy my own.  I would recommend this book for girls 16 and up 🙂   –Jessica

The Recipe Box

Pizza Crust

This is our favorite regular pizza crust 🙂  Makes 2 large crusts.

2 c. warm water (approx. 100°F)

2 T. brown sugar (or honey, or white sugar)

2T. yeast

2T. olive oil

1 1/2 t. salt

2 1/2 c. white flour

2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour

Whisk together the first three ingredients and let proof (let it set for ten minutes and it should look frothy and bubbly).  Add the rest of the ingredients in the order given and mix together well.  Knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.  A test we give it is to loosely shape it into a round ball and poke our finger in about 1/2 an inch.  If it springs back, it’s ready.  Cover and let rise for about 1/2 an hour or until doubled.  Roll out into two large crusts and bake at 500°F for 8-10 minutes.  Add the toppings and bake another 5-8 minutes or until the toppings are heated and the cheese is as melted as you like 😉

Some of our favorite toppings are:

Pizza sauce (of course!)

Lots of cheese (of course, of course!)

parmesan cheese

ground beef

fresh onion

pepperoni, and

peppers

Farmgirl Favorites

About two weeks ago, we got to play the music for a friend’s wedding.  She and her husband gave us all bracelets from Mud Love, a cute little shop in Indiana that creates bracelets, necklaces, magnets, pottery and more.  The really neat thing about Mud Love is that every $5 you spend there provides one African with clean drinking water for a year!

They have a large selection of words, and if you want it personalized, they do that, too 🙂   They’re also waterproof and adjustable and you can mix, match and ‘stack’ them.

You may have noticed by our sidebar that we are now on Twitter 😀  We don’t always get a chance to update it, but it’ll give you little ‘bites’ of what we’re up to when we don’t have the time to do a post 😉  The only thing is that we’re finding that it’s awful hard to be concise! 😀

Cute Quotes

Last weekend we had wonderful time visiting with another family of eleven.  Their little boy, Levi, is Isaiah’s age.  Noah, Levi and Isaiah were like the Three Musketeers.  One morning Susannah was in the kitchen and overheard the following from the sunroom.  Levi had accidentally hit Isaiah in the head with a plastic shotgun and quickly said, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!”

Isaiah just looked at him and said, “What am I supposed to say?”

Levi thought and said, “Ummm…you’re supposed to say ‘I forgive you’.”

Levi then looked at Noah and said, “He didn’t know what to say!!!”

Noah replied, “He knows what to say when I hit him.”  😀

Bekah called for Charissa to come to her, and Charissa replied, “I can’t, I’m on a time crush.”

Bekah: “Time crush? I’m afraid that isn’t the right word, honey.”

Charissa: “Oh. I’m on a time rush.”

Bekah: “It’s time crunch!”

Noah was getting some milk, then was talking to Isaiah and went all the way around the counter (the long way) and exclaimed, “Oh brother, I’m getting so sidetracked!”
