Videos of the Week
An encouraging video 🙂 We know that dressing modestly helps our brothers in Christ, but is encouraging to hear how much it helps. The first few seconds of the music on the video is very loud…just to warn you 😀 It’s better after that.

Farmgirl Favorites
I was so excited to find this place! I met them at a homeschool conference and couldn’t wait to spread the news about their “You CAN Sew” curriculum 😀 Mrs. Carmichael told me that two different girls knew absolutely nothing about sewing, and from these tutorials and dvds, each made a dress for 4H and both won a blue ribbon at their State Fair! If you’ve always wanted to sew, I highly recommend their dvds! ~Jessica
Do you want to learn how to use Photoshop? How to edit photos? How to add textures? Kim Klassen is offering a free mini-ecourse on how to do all of these things. I did the one she had last month and learned and enjoyed it so much! She provides free downloads and everything. If you don’t have Photoshop, I found that the tutorials worked fairly well for Gimp, which is what I have 🙂 The picture above is one I did in her class 😀 Jessica
We found this on another blog: 🙂
Cute Quotes
Leah told Isaiah to wash his face, and he asked her why. She told him, “because you have chocolate on your face.”
He looked in the mirror and said, “nuh uh, that’s oreo sugar!” (he had eaten an oreo 🙂 )
Isaiah was asking Anna where we were during the flood. She said, “nowhere…we weren’t here yet.”
Isaiah: “You mean God didn’t build us yet?”
When Daddy heard about it he said, “a contractor’s son!” 😀
We were eating graham crackers in the van on the way home from church one day and Isaiah took Leah’s braid and said, “I’m getting it all crumbsy!” 🙂
Note: The Seven Sisters Treasures is a {almost} weekly post where we share some of our favorite things. Hope you enjoy! ~the Farmgirls

mary <3
Oh my! That is a lot of eggs 😀 I can’t wait to come, too!!! Looking forward to it!
Jessica
Okay M’Dear, how did you know that the Barn Dance is the national anthem for rednecks:) That dog is gross. At first I was like Awhhh that is so cute and then I started to see these long strings of slobber flying everywhere and I decided that I was soooooo glad that there was a computer between me and him because that was nasty!!!! Man I need to find my boots and go a square dancing……….well isn’t square dancing where you dance over a square……um…….I’m a bad southerner….. I should know this!!!!…..Anyway….. It sounds like tons of fun. Maybe Yall could come down here and we could break yall in southern style. First with a huge pot of boiling crawfish!!! yummy< Dad has 68 ibs boiling outside. They are sooooo goooood!!! Then we could take you down to the sale barn to see a guy who talks faster than I do ( which is an amazing talent considering8D). Then we could go crabbing and maybe go frogging. LOL can you imagine the title of that post " here froggy, froggy" hahaha:) By the way If your huge egg filled with butterfinger goes missing, I didn't do it. well….maybe.. nah….. Madison did it!!!! Yep the Old Maid has struck again. lol.
The Well Grounded Southern Spinster
ROFL! You are so funny Kelsye! Hehe! We love the barn dance, and it has been playing multiple times on the computer as we all sit and sew our matching dresses 😀 I’ve never had crawfish, and I can hardly bring myself to hold a squirming frog–I really do need broken in, don’t I?! Now some of my sisters on the other hand have no problem at all with it 😀
I agree with you on that dog…yuck, yuck, yuck! lol!
Well, if my butterfinger egg goes missing, I’ll be suspicious of the both of you…how do I know you didn’t steal it together…hmmmm??? 😀
The Flying Spinster
Now this is something someone who knows me would never, never do is steal someone’s Butterfinger, or candy of any kind. 😀 First of all, I do not like chocolate candy at all. (I can hear you all now, in unified gasps)—-second, I do not eat refined sugar or fructose corn syrup. (Now I hear “Stone her! Stone her!!!!!”) 😀 I should I take into hiding now? But I certainly think that you ought to look into the possibility of Kelsye taking your egg. Someone who likes crawfish must be watched carefully.
Ha ha ha! Jessica and Kelsye…the two original Spinsters. You two are a hoot! The three of us, seeming to have the same sense of humor…shall we start a comedy team? 😀
Lol! Okay then, I will better know which Spinster to go after if my egg comes up missing 😀 Not like chocolate? *groan* How terrible! Lol 😀 However, I do commend you for not eating the high fructose corn syrup and refined sugar (though I do eat too much of it myself!) 😀
The Spinster
*gasp* Madison how can you not like chocolate!! I to commend you for not eating sugar and high fructose corn syrup, mostly because that means that there is more for me :D! Somebody who doesn’t eat crawfish should be the one being watched. How can you not love those yummy little morsels of goodness! i guess it is just a cajun thing because the people about a hour north of us don’t eat them at all. I wonder if I could fed-ex you a steaming box of spicy hot crawfish covered with garlic ( see they have herbs on them so the must be healthy, lol) and mustard with a thick coating of Extra-Spicy crawfish boil powder on them. My favorite way to eat them is when they are so hot your mouth is burning and your nose gets cleared out from all of the running( see perfect if you have a stuffy nose :D) I’m sure that I could convert you:) Madison we should start a comedy team ” The Three Spinsterettas” yep, that has a nice ring to it. Seriously I am checking it out if I could send them to you……or maybe even me and them because I know that I would have to teach you how to peel them. It is something that norther’s have been scientifically proven to be unable to do in a reasonable amount of time. When the fed-ex man arrives at your house some time tomorrow, get ready because that box he is holding just might surprise you:)
The Well Grounded Southern Spinster
Perfect! We’ll have a contest! I peel a crawfish and you skin a chicken and we’ll see who wins 😀
Madison, go to this website and study how to peel one…so we can kind of know what we’re getting into! 😀
I especially like this line:
“While using the professional Cajun grip as described above, keep your left hand still and twist clockwise, one quarter turn, with your right hand. It’s all in the wrist, like using a screwdriver. (Side note: Well-to-do women have been observed deviating from this method by twisting counterclockwise while keeping their pinky finger pointed up to the sky.)”
Hee hee!
~Susannah
Once again…ROFL! You are so funny! I like the name “The Three Spinsterettas” it has a lovely roll to it 😀 Susannah, she probably already knows how to skin a chicken…we’ll have to come up with something especially northern to make the contest fair, lol! I don’t know what, though!
The Flying Spinster
“The Three Spinsterettas”. I like it! 😀 I wonder how we would do?
So the contest is set with chicken skinning, crawfish peeling (yech!) and salmon gutting? You two -no, three, I guess Susannah is one-are too funny! 😀
Okay, someone explain the box I got in the mail today. I’ts pretty big, has a big picture of a lobster-ahem, crawfish on it, and overlooking the big burned patches, there is steam coming out the seams. Explanation, please? Kelsye? Oh, me, oh, my!!!!
Kelsye is in the box!
Now what?
Oh dear! I hope Kelsye wasn’t too burned herself?!!! 😀 Not to mention the little creatures clawing at her–um…do crawfish have claws? Okay…I need to get educated about these little creatures 😀
The Flying Spinster
Okay…EEK! I just saw pictures of crawfish 😀 Lol!
The Spinster
No, I don’t think she was burned. It’s just that she put too much of that hot seasoning on her crawfish! 😀 Ha ha! She can keep it all, and I shall ‘return to sender’—-unless you want her so you can try those *tasty* little morsels.
Thanks for mentioning Kim Klassen’s Photoshop classes. I’m going to sign up!
