The Recipe Box

Waffle Cookies

  • 1 cup of Butter melted
  • 4 heaping T. of Cocoa
  • 1 1/2  cups of Sugar
  •  4 Eggs slightly beaten
  • 2 t. Vanilla
  • 2 c. Flour

Preheat waffle iron. In a mixing bowl combine: butter, cocoa, sugar, eggs &vanilla.

Slowly mix in the flour; you want a nice thick dough. Add more or less flour according to those guidelines.

Spray down your waffle iron and plop down some dough. Cook as you would any other waffle. (For our waffle iron I cooked them a smidge over 3 min.)

When cooked, place onto a wire rack; let it cool for just a bit; sprinkle with powedered sugar.

Enjoy!

I made these last night and they were  good. 🙂 It’s pretty much a brownie cooked like a waffle. Next time I make them, I am going to cook them a little less (hopefully they will be more fudgy), and add chocolate chips! 🙂

This made 6 waffles, one of them being smaller because it was the last one. 🙂

I found the recipe here.

Cute Quotes

One night Isaiah was complaining to Leah about Noah and said, “He has a flashlight and he keeps on brighting me and brighting me!”

One day Isaiah discovered an old pacifier and wanted to play with it.  He had it in his mouth a lot for several days and Leah kept teasing him that he was a baby because he had a pacifier 😀  A few days later he told Jessica, “I not a baby anymore  ’cause I don’t have the fire thing.”

We looked way back in the beginning of our  ‘family journal’ to find a ‘cute quote’ from a while ago 😀

When Anna and Charissa were quite a bit younger, Charissa saw the green bananas Mommy had bought.  She asked Anna, “Anna, what are those?”

“Those are bananas, they haven’t riped yet.”

Then Charissa giggled and said, “They’re apple bananas!”

I love John Ortberg! Our church is having an early morning study on his book “[if you want to walk on water you’ve got to] get out of the boat” It’s great!

That “Fire thing” quote is sooo funny. 😉 Around here, we call them “binky”, though I have no idea why. 😛

Oh! BTW, I have an AWESOME idea for a picture for you girls to take!! You should line every girl up (side by side), in order of ages, and be braiding each other’s hair, all down the line!!! 😀 I thought of that last night, and I said to myself, “That would be great!!!” I’m sure other girls would love that, too! Wouldn’t you???!! LOL! 😀 😀

Thanks for trying out my recipe. It’s one of those cookies where it doesn’t hurt to mix it up. In fact, once I melted some chocolate chips and added it to the batter; just to give it some…..well…… more chocolate 🙂

Beautiful pictures ladies!! Sunsets/rises are one of the times where I really feel as though God’s beautiful creation is on display!

I am also a big fan of John Ortberg – very inspiring!

Looks like a great cookie/chocolate waffle deliciousness recipe as well!!! 🙂 I am a huge fan of anything chocolate so this will def be on my list of desserts to try….or maybe it could pass as a breakfast food considering it WAS made in a waffle iron! lol.

    Blessings,

    Julianne

My grandma was helping one of my aunts move some of their things out of their house.
My grandma was buying some of the things from her because my aunt was wanting to get rid of them so badly. My aunt yells, “Ok, two cents!” as she points to a certain item.
After a while she yells again, “Ok, now your up to twelve cents!” then my grandma says,
“Well, it’s a good thing I found that quarter while I was doing your laundry,” My aunt replies, “Upp! It’s up to twenty-five cents now!”

      Thank you, Kaitlin!
Did you see his other two books, “If You Want to Walk On Water, You Have to Get Out of the Boat”, and “When the Game Is Over, It All Goes Back In The Box”? I like those two best of John Ortberg’s books! 😀

We usually get our books on Amazon 😀 The Lamplighter Books, like “House of Love” and “A Peep Behind the Scenes” are found here: http://lamplighter.net/c/ 🙂 Let us know if you have any questions!

Thanks for the link to the books by Ellen White! 🙂
