Wendy’s Chili

2 lbs ground beef

29 oz. tomato sauce

29 oz. kidney beans (with liquid)

29 oz. pinto beans (with liquid)

1 C. diced onion

1/2 C. diced green chilies

1/4 C. diced celery

3 medium tomatoes, diced

2 t. cumin powder

3 T. chili powder

1 t. black pepper

2 t. salt

2 C. water

Brown beef in medium skillet and drain off fat. Using a fork, crumble the beef into pea-sized pieces.

In a large pot, combine beef plus all remaining ingredients, and bring to a simmer over low heat. Cook,  stirring every 15 minutes, for 2 to 3 hours.

Makes about 12 servings.

Isaiah asked where the “plugger thing” was to turn on the Christmas lights.

Charissa asked if Mocha (a friend’s dog) was a boy or girl, and Noah said, “probably either one.”

Isaiah was very happy to “sharp” his colored pencils, and offered Charissa to “sharp” her’s too. 🙂
