He Has No Claim

Recently we found this great link on Jessica Letchford’s blog.  This article made me realize all the more how grateful I am for His salvation–Jessica

…he had no claim on Jesus. Satan could not whisper in Jesus’ ear that he was unloving or unworthy or sinful. He could not remind Jesus of sins he had committed, people he had shunned or offenses against God. He could not remind Jesus of impure motives or impure thoughts. Satan was powerless to accuse Jesus. He had no claim against him.  But not so with us…  [read more]

Christmas Gifts

  This Christmas we have been especially challenged.  We spend so much money on ourselves, on things we don’t really need, and we can so easily change someone’s life by buying them a cow, or some chickens, or even donating some money to feed a baby for a week that might otherwise die.  We’re still giving each other gifts this Christmas, but we’re also giving others some gifts–gifts that mean much much more.  Plus, the little girls *love* picking things out for children across the world 😀  They’ve always loved children of different nationalities and now they are excited to give them something!

2010 Samaritan’s Purse Gift Catalog

Gospel for Asia’s Gift Catalog  {this website has some videos you can watch}

Advent Conspiracy  {so does this one}

Noah and Isaiah were watching Jessica as she cut up the turkey for Thanksgiving dinner.  Isaiah asked, “Is it a he or a her?”

Jessica said she didn’t know. Then Isaiah said, ” I think the turkeys are he’s and the chickens are her’s”. 😀

Cassia was teasing Isaiah and told him “Dogs go meow and cats go woof, woof!”

Then Isaiah replied, “and people go, “hey, you look good!”

In case you were wondering where he get’s such ideas…he’s quoting Wayne on Fireproof…oh dear!

Isaiah was switching the light on and off and the light wasn’t really needed.  Noah said, “Isaiah’s wasting battery!”

    I love the “funny quotes” especially the one from Fireproof! And the picture of the baby is hilarious!!

    We have twins, but they look nothing alike. No copying and pasting there! God redesigned the next one! LOL! 🙂

    I have to admit you hit a couple of my favorites this week! I LOVE 7 layer bars and Beverly Lewis books 🙂

    I’ve also had the opportunity to play with an orchestra the last several years in a large production of Messiah and it is such a beautiful work! Have you ladies played parts or all of it at all with all your musical experience? There is actually a you tube video out there somewhere where people start singing it in a fast food court of a mall…

      Oh how neat! No, none of us have played the “Messiah” before…we were just talking about it the other day…how fun it would be 😀 We’ve seen that video, too! And we were actually going to post it soon…maybe in the next “Treasures” post 😀

    I LOVE 7-layer bars…. except around here we call them Magic Cookie Bars. 🙂 I always find it interesting to see how the same things have different names depending on location… and some areas of the country haven’t even heard of such things! I used to live in Ohio but now live in southern Arizona… my mom was telling a co-worker about the Magic Cookie Bars and they had never heard of anything like it.

    Perhaps I am easily amused! 🙂
