Quote of the Week

"Stand Back," Said the Elephant, "I'm Going to Sneeze!"

“Stand Back,” said the Elephant, “I’m Going to Sneeze!”

This is definitely one of those books that I want to read to my own children someday : D  We have  the one that used to be Mommy’s and we all love it!

The Recipe Box

  Coco Wheats

A very yummy hot cereal that is a lot like Cream of Wheats, only with a slight cocoa flavor : )  We used to always buy our Coco Wheats  but just in the past couple of years have figured out a homemade version that is cheaper, but tastes just as good 🙂

This recipe makes 1 serving.  Double, triple, quadruple, etc. to fit your family size 🙂

3 T. coarsely ground wheat flour

1 T. sugar

1 1/2 t. cocoa

1/8 t. salt

3/4 c. water

Put water on to boil.  Combine all the dry ingredients together.  Once water starts boiling, slowly pour in the dry mixture, while quickly stirring with a whisk.  Stir and cook for 30 seconds to 1 min. or until it is as thick as you like.  It will thicken as it cools.  Serve with milk.

Project X

Only 3 more days before you find out what the great and wondrous Project X is 😀  Okay, maybe we shouldn’t play it up that much!   Your clue for today is partly found in the “Recipe Box” section.  Click on “Coco Wheats” and it will take you to the company’s main page. Your letter is found in the second letter of the second word in the name of the company that makes them.    Enjoy!

Cute Quotes

Yesterday, our goat, Mr. Baer, got out and being a frisky goat, jumped up on Rebekah.  Isaiah heard about it and told the other girls, “Polar bear jumped up on Bekah and hurt her face!”

Bekah and Charissa were telling Jessica about what they had read in a book called “In the Days of Noah”.  Charissa said,”…and you know Jibbeth? He…”   And when Jessica told them how you really say his name both Bekah and Charissa were howling and laughing because they were sure that you don’t say “Japheth”  it’s “Jibbeth“!!!

A few days ago Noah and Isaiah were playing with the “Little People” manger scene, and Noah took the hay out of the manger and informed Isaiah that it was his bed.  Isaiah replied, “No!  It Jesus bed!!!”
