Does this picture look like it was taken in August?

Well, matter of fact, it was taken on our birthday!   I couldn’t believe it that after all that frost we got, our roses started blooming again, the tansy and garlic in the garden started growing (that was planted in May!) and the onions (that we thought had died) are now alive!!   Strange!

But the reason I am writing this post is not about strange things (although I could go on about that;) but  about our birthdays.  Lyssa’s and mine I mean…not everybody’s!!!!!

I am posting a couple of pictures. (At this house it means 10-15.  You know, you ask for a couple of tissues and a 7 year old comes back with two handfuls…well, that was me! )

ANYWAYS!   pictures….

Well, this isn’t exactly our birthday…but I thought it was really cute.   That is Charissa with "Ethiopia" one of our kittens.

And Rebekah below with "Mexico" another one of our kittens.

Okay….birthday pictures:

Lyssa with her new tea cup from Cassie

(Me) Suzanna and my tealight pie-shaped candle holders (from Mommy)

Lyssa with her new Edwardian apron (from Mommy)

 Aprons we gave each other

And our birthday picture….eeek why am I standing on the step?

Okay, thats better…She’s on the step!

Remember last week we were featured in the Best Friends magazine?  (Well, not really )

And below is one of our trees, most of our trees are maple so almost all of them look like this.

And about our birthday?  Well,  normal custom is a  "spend it yourself because I am working on your present" day.   Good thing I share a birthday with someone or I would be really lonely   Okay, its not that bad.   Usually someone is finished so we can do something : )  We always (or almost always) have a party in the evening with just family.   We also get to pick all the meals of the day!  We had ham and cheese quiche, pumpkin/chocolate chip muffins and lemon tea muffins,  fruit salad, and grape juice for breakfast.  For lunch…what lunch?  Breakfast was lunch! : )    And for supper we had creamy spinach enchiladas, BBQ meatballs, sweet potato rolls, and for dessert we had cream cheese/chocolate chip brownies with homemade vanilla ice cream!!   It was so good!!

Also on our birthdays we don’t have to cook, clean, feed our goats, or wash any dishes…that is if we don’t want to!  But usually (since we have no work to do….and that makes one bored) we end up doing something!

I couldn't believe the roses in the flower garden, either! But I think the snow yesterday may have finally done them in!

Okay, girls, I'm tagging you! ; ) Surely you can come up with six more unspectacular things about yourselves! : )

You can visit my Tagged! post for the rules (as if you don't know them!)

Looks like you two had a wonderful birthday! 🙂

I loved the picture of Charissa with one of your cats. They're both so cute!

What sort of camera do you use?

Gosh, that whole comment was really disjointed, wasn't it? lol.

Well, I'll talk to you later!

    Blessings!

    Hi!

Happy Birthday!! I read about your birthday gathering at my friends (the Dixons) blogs. They are such a sweet family. They traveled all the way to our home in Alabama to visit my girls and I after my husband was killed this past Mother's Day. Your family is very blessed to have them as personal friends.

Almost forgot to say that I love the aprons. My girls and I are starting our own "apron business, so they caught my attention. :–)

I must say (or, rather, agree!) the picture of Charissa is very adorable! Aren't younger siblings the best photo subject!?

I also really liked the aprons. There's something about aprons that "sums up" my love for good ol' country life!

Well, anyway, hope to see y'all soon!

    Love and hugs!
