We watched ‘The Polar Express’ a couple of nights ago…one of our favorite Christmas movies 😀  The boys got a ‘Polar Express’ train for Christmas, so we were excited to watch the movie again.
One little part stood out to me in a different way. Â At the end when the boy is getting off the train and thanks the conductor, he replies,
“No. Â Thank you. One thing about trains…it doesn’t matter where you’re going. Â What matters is deciding to get on.”
Of course, you want to make sure you’re getting on the right train, but in a way this is like our Christian life…when I’m on Jesus’ train it doesn’t matter where he takes me. Â What really matters is whether or not I decide to get on. Â He’s not going to let me fall off the train and leave me in some frozen tundra. Â I might slip, (actually it’s likely that I’ll slip at times!)Â but he’ll always catch me,
…and I’m going to get the ride of my life!
Why stay in the comfy house when you can have an adventure?!  😀

Of course, I do not recommend basing all of your Christian life off of Polar Express,  but I just wanted to share that little part with you 😀  Let’s not worry about stepping outside of our comfort zone…or about what others will think of us.  Let’s get on the train!
p.s.  speaking of Christmas movies…what are some of your favorites?!  😀

I’ve never watched Polar Express but whenever we watch the Heine kids James always asks to watch it ;).
I realllly like Christmas with a capital C. And Christmas shoes is EXTREAMLY sad so I’d advice not to watch it :).

Very good point! I’ve been learning the same thing while reading “Before you meet Prince Charming”! Gods plan for us will be “exceedingly and abundantly above all we could ask or even think”! I’m excited to find out about this- because quite frankly, I can think of some awesome possibilities! 😀 I’m excited for the ride! -Nicole
PS I really like “White Christmas” and “It’s a wonderful life”. We also like the Santa Claus movies with Tim Allen! 😀
Amen! I’m excited to see where ‘the train’ will take me 😀
Oh yes! “It’s a Wonderful Life” is one of our favorites, too!

I love love love that one! so that one
I love the ” The Nativity story”. We always watch it on Christmas Eve ( It always makes my Mom and sisters cry, me too! 🙂 ) I also like ” Christmas with a Capital C”.
It was very funny!! Yes, also ” The Christmas Shoes” will make you cry and cry hard. I remember after I watched it I never listened to the song the same after watching it. I would watch it even if it makes you cry. 🙂

Julia
“The Nativity Story” sounds neat…I just looked it up and realized we had seen a trailer for it a couple of years ago. Maybe we’ll have to check that one out 😀
Oh dear! Not good news about “Christmas Shoes” 😀 Cry and cry hard?! Hehe! Oh well…I cried hard for Courageous and I *really* liked that movie 😀

That’s a good point! It’s funny that you posted about Polar Express– we just saw it for the first time a week ago. 🙂
We just watched Christmas With a Capital C last night. Really funny and a great story, and the Alaskan scenery was beautiful.
Other Christmas movies we’ve seen are It’s a Wonderful Life, the Nativity Story and Christmas Lodge.
My sisters and I love your blog!
