Hello friends! I know we missed our Seven Sisters Treasures this week…we’ve been busy, and others of us have been sick 😛 No fun! We finally got alot of the pictures from our church camping trip up 😀
We had so much fun, and the weather was beautiful and very sunny, making us all very red! It is always so much fun to come to these camping trips. Since a lot of people in our church drive a long ways to come, we don’t always get to actually visit with them very much. Here everybody is within walking distance of each other, and it is just so nice to be able to spend time with our church family for a weekend 🙂
This year we went to Turkey Run…I think it is one of my favorites! It is so pretty and the trails are so wild 🙂 In the picture below, you can see the top of a bridge rail that was supposed to go over the little river. Instead, the river went over it! We were sad that a lot of the trails were closed when we got there, due to flooding, but we would come to this lookout point and measure the river dropping by how high the water was on this bridge 😀
{Kate and Anna, two of our friends, looking down at the bridge 😀 Isn’t the overhanging rock pretty?}
This is another spot in the river, showing how flooded it was 🙂
Once the river went down, we had so much fun going on walks! We love the wildness of this place 😀
Bekah and Charissa saw this and told me to try and get a picture of it…it looked even prettier in real life!
The leaves were just coming out, so the woods were a misty green, and the sky was a perfect blue!
We quickly discovered that even though crocs are not the best walking shoes, they were perfect for these trails! They were SO muddy and we were walking through water a lot of the time!
One day Susannah took a bunch of the kids for a walk…they found this neat little waterfall and had a blast playing in and around it 😀
Here’s a short video of them playing in it 😀 They really liked watching their crocs go sliding into the little pool at the base of the waterfall 😀

I think they were having fun…
Esther and Charissa–they are so much alike!
Later, some of us older girls, Mommy and Kate went on a walk on “Trail 3”. It’s one of my favorites! You get to walk right up this little ‘waterfall’, and farther into the ravine, when you can’t really walk through the water anymore, they’ve cut hand holds and steps in the rock for you to walk on 😀 Very wild…I like it!
A different walk we took…this rock was hanging over the flooded river. When we got off of it and walked behind it we couldn’t believe how big it was, and just how much it was hanging out over the river! It isn’t a very good picture…but the rock was probably at least twice as high as it looks…my phone camera isn’t as good as our regular one!
The “Punch Bowl” 🙂
A friendly little spider that Anna took a picture of 😀 I couldn’t believe how clear it turned out!
I thought this was a good picture of Anna 😀
I don’t know how many pictures we have of the little waterfalls! But they were so pretty to take pictures of!
This was beautiful! We took this one when we went on an evening walk. We took it close to the spot called “Sunset Point”…I can see why they named it that!
Back at the campground…resting!
Daddy was our chef…whenever we go camping he likes to cook for us 😀 We bring him the stuff and he cooks it right up. I don’t know exactly what it is, maybe the smoke, but food always tastes better when it’s cooked over the campfire!
We have this friendly little “argument” among our church about whether it is ‘real’ camping if you have a camper (like us…ours is very long–30 feet or so) or if ‘real’ camping is sleeping in a tent 😀 We tease them back that it isn’t ‘real’ camping if you don’t cook over the fire. We have pancakes, sausage and eggs, or sausage gravy and fried apples for breakfast. They have cold cereal 😀
I love this picture!
It looks like Noah is hungry…patiently waiting for his food!
Isaiah and Valerie, getting firewood for Daddy 😀 They are both cuties!
Both of the Isaiah’s having some kind of serious conversation 😀
Isaiah, Paul, Valerie and Noah playing “Kentucky Golf”, or as the more ‘sophisticated’ box it came it calls it, “Ladder Ball” 😀 Daddy and Mr. Y playing the ‘corn hole’ game 😀
This little guy is adorable! I got to go with Kate’s family to help them pack for camping (at that point Kate’s mom was only about a month away from being due with their 13th baby :D) and during that time James became my little buddy 😀 I just love him!
Paul and Valerie…they are pretty cute, too! Paul’s so loud and exhuberant, and Valerie is so cute!
Isaiah riding somebody’s Big Wheel…is purple your color Isaiah?!
The playground was a favorite place to play 😀 The girls got a lot of fun pictures here.
Especially of Valerie…she’s very obliging 😀 Along with all our pictures of waterfalls, we also have a bunch of pictures of Valerie 😀
Isn’t she sweet?!
On the way home, Leah took this picture of the ‘girl van’ 😀 Daddy, Mommy and the boys rode in the truck and we followed behind in the minivan 😀
We stopped by Dairy Queen on the way home…yum, yum! The perfect ending of a perfect camping trip 😀

Looks like you had fun!!
Hi Girls, Your Turkey Run trips looks delightful! I have never been there. Do you know of any used cellos for sale at a very reasonable price? ~Lou~
Thank you! No, we don’t know of any cellos for sale, unfortunately! 🙁 Tell Maggie we said hello!
Jessica
You should try checking on Amazon. I just checked for cellos there the other day, and they’re about the same price as violins!!
Oh my! Though you’d want to be careful…I’d be suspicious of anything too cheap 🙂 We’ve had cheap instruments before that aren’t much fun to play on.
Jessica
*Ahem*. Dairy Queen? Was that before you went sugar free? 😀
Lol! Yes, definitely 😀 *Sigh!*
Yesterday I was very chocolate hungry!
Jessica
You girls are soo funny!! You Naughty Spinster, you!
Beautiful pictures! Looks like you had a lot of fun 🙂 I love church family!
~Kate
I am soooooo enjoying visiting Turkey Run vicariously through your photos!!! I haven’t been yet, it’s a little out of my way. I’m from Indianapolis originally (Eagle Creek Park is great if you’re ever down there), but I live in Muncie now! I loved McCormick’s creek best of all the state parks I’ve been to, but I still haven’t made it to Turkey Run yet!
Its not camping unless you cook over the fire. Being in a tent is just a plus. When my family camps I do most of the cooking in my Lodge Logic cookware. And yes food does taste soo much better over the campfire. Keep up the good work
