ย Oh dear, oh dear!ย  We promised we’d have this video done today and we DID it!ย  Only, it’s kind of late in the day ๐Ÿ˜ฎย  Oh well!ย  Better late than never!ย  We’ve put it in Seven Sisters Treasures #47, but we’re reposting here, too, for you all ๐Ÿ˜€

We also found this short video telling a little bit about the history of about how 4H started ๐Ÿ˜€ The 4 “H”s stand for “Head, Heart, Hands and Health”, but did you know that it used to only be three H’s?!ย  We didn’t until now. Enjoy!

Very nice fair video! HA! It would be nice to enter animals in the fair but I don’t think a doberman or two cats really count. LOL Looks like y’all had fun! God Bless,

Acutally, they do have “dog obedience” and a class for cats…though we’ve never entered in either one, so I can’t say exactly what they do! ๐Ÿ˜€

Really? That is neat, however I’d feel weird about bringing my cat or even dog to the fair. LOL Still nice to know.

LOL! Actually, it isn’t cat obedience, just dog obedience, and the cats get judged on their “prettiness” I guess! ๐Ÿ˜€ Sorry! I didn’t make myself very clear!

Looks like you had a great time at the fair! I’m not really familiar with what being involved with 4-H or showing at a fair involves. How are you guys judged? Do you spend much time preparing (like looking in the mirror with your llamas at home? ๐Ÿ™‚ ). Just curious!

With the llamas, we go twice a week to the llama farm and they go through all of those things…walking on the steps, through water, under the “tunnel”, sniffing the bear in the stroller, and of course, looking in the mirror ๐Ÿ˜€ At our fair, the judge is judging on how you handle the llama (whether your llama behaves or not) ๐Ÿ˜€ With the rabbits and goats it is a little different. They judge on how the goat/rabbit is “built” so to speak, or sometimes on their markings ๐Ÿ˜€ We are not terribly good at figuring out how to breed our animals to get “good” animals like the judge is looking for, so we mostly just enter those for the fun of it ๐Ÿ˜€ The goats also have showmanship (judging how you handle the animal) and a milking contest, where you see whose goat gives the most for as long as she’s been milking ๐Ÿ˜€

We should spend more time with our goats/rabbits at home, but they normally fall by the wayside in getting ready for the fair, and we end up with stubborn goats that “plow sawdust” in the showring ๐Ÿ˜€ Oh well!
