It’s been over a month since we found this year’s perfect tree, but we had to share pictures anyway 😉  Our regular camera battery died after only five pictures, so we resorted to using Daddy’s phone which is why the pictures aren’t the highest quality.  It did do a pretty good job though.

Cassia and Mommy must have been talking about a tree during our tree-hunting adventures 😀

Isaiah with the tree saw 🙂

Bekah found a tree branch laying on the ground and declared that it made Jessica look like Pharoah (???)  😀

When we finally found THE tree (after the usual ‘it’s too short, too skinny, too this, too that’ discussions we always have 😀 ), Noah and Isaiah went to work cutting it down 😀

Cassia, Leah and Susannah…being goofy 😀

The boys cut down completely with no help from anyone else 😀

Dragging the tree to the front of the farm

We brought the tree inside that night and set it up in the living room.  Then everyone went to work to pick up all the needles that dropped on the carpet 😀

About a week later we were able to decorate our tree 🙂  You probably remember our paper airplane from previous years that we sign and date every year when we put the tree up and take the tree down.  Cassia, Charissa and Leah are looking over all the old signatures 😀

Isaiah signing his name.  That paper airplane is getting so full, we’re going to need a new one pretty soon.  But we want to keep adding to this one as long as we can 😉

Susannah getting ready to sign her name 😀

Why is Susannah in black, you say?!  Well, she’s in mourning, (and that’s why she’s smiling so big) 😀  Okay, we’re kidding!  She and Leah played in the community Christmas concert that afternoon and hadn’t changed out of their black.  Susannah got to play in the orchestra pit for the Nutcracker and enjoyed it immensely 😀

Noah being funny with some of the ‘crystal icicle’ ornaments 😀

 {Bekah}

All of the ornaments 🙂   Every year we get a new ornament that has to do with something we did that year.  This year’s is going to be a Roman soldier, for the Holy Walk 🙂  We could have done a manger scene, but we already have lots of those 😀

Charissa being ‘fancy’ with her crystal icicle earrings, pretty fan and bell 😀  And Susannah and Leah jumping into Charissa’s picture.

Daddy and Mommy always set out all the ornaments on our dining room bench, then they tell us the story or the ‘why’ behind each of the ornaments as we hang them up.  Most of them have a story and a few are just pretty ornaments we found because we must have had a boring year that year or couldn’t find an ornament that went with the year 😀  Remember the Liberty Bell from our 2010 East Trip, and the Holland shoes from last year’s trip to Holland, Michigan?!

The ice cream-making Eskimo we bought the year that we learned how to make really good homemade ice cream

Waiting to hang up some more ornaments

The finished result!

We found a couple more pictures of the Holy Walk when we were robbing Daddy’s phone, and of course we had to share them with you 😉

Noah, Bekah and Isaiah watching the village

This one was taken when we first arrived, before we split off to our ‘stations’ 😀

Be on the lookout for a few more posts on Christmas 😉  We hope you’ve enjoyed looking through this first set of pictures 😀
