This wedding cake was so fun! Β Placing the strawberries and doing the chocolate drizzle was my favorite part. Β I did get kind of tense while doing the drizzles though, at first, until I realized that it was going to drizzle down just fine.
When I did reading on ‘chocolate drizzles’, several people said that you can ‘control’ the drizzles. Β I was skeptical that you could do such a thing, but found that they weren’t lying π Β Some used ganache, a chocolate and whipping cream mixture, and others used chocolate chips and shortening melted together. Β I decided to do it the chocolate chips and shortening way. Β I think it was a ratio of 1 c. of chocolate chips to 2 T. shortening…but I think I added more shortening and butter until it was as ‘drizzly’ as I wanted it.
I was so excited with how it turned out, Β I took a bunch of pictures to celebrate!
Oh yum!
The wedding is only a 1/4 mile away…thankfully! Β Because I held it in the front seat while Susannah drove ever-so-slowly to the church. Β That’s the longest 1/4 mile I’ve ever seen! Β My arms were so tired and my hands were actually shaking from exhaustion when I was trying to type on the computer after we came back home π
These two cakes were for the rehearsal dinner tonight…
chocolate…
…and vanilla.
Thanks for sharing my excitement π
‘Sweet’ dreams, everyone π

That is really pretty Jessica :). Last night when you sent the picture of it we were having Emilys 2nd birthday celebration with Papa so mom passed her phone around and we were all looking at it :). The cakes you made for the rehersal dinner were really cute too!
Sys! Wait….I might not see you at the wedding.
Thank you, Mary! π Hope I see you later today π -Jessica
Such beautiful cakes! You are surely blessed with a gift for this.
WOW!!! Gorgeous!! Great job, Jessica!
Jessica, the wedding cake is beautiful. And the cakes for the rehearsal are lovely as well. Great job!
Lovely job! Lovely! I know, cake decoration isn’t half as easy as it looks. But you done it. π
……….It almost makes this old maid consider hiring you for her wedding…….Oh, wait………
ROFL, Madison!! Sounds good to me…then I can go West AND meet my dear old maid π π
Who would have known if they weren’t told that a baker with 30 years of experience hadn’t made that cake! It looks so good………and I’m sure that it tasted just as good too. π And the rehearsal cakes were beautiful too! π
That looks SO good! You did a great job on it!
Wow! That is one beautiful cake that you made! It looks delicious! My mouth is watering! Did you get to help eat it after the wedding? π Did it taste as good as it looks? I’m sure it did! π
No, unfortunately it was just for the bridal party…everyone else had brownies and ice cream…which was good, too! π I do know, though, from the leftover cake pieces and icing, that those tasted good π

Thank you so much everybody! I’m loving each of your comments π -Jessica
That is seriously amazing!
how many times before have you made wedding cakes?
Once I made sheet cakes for a wedding…and another time Leah and I made a tiered cake for a wedding anniversary party. And I made two tiered cakes while I was in 4H, but that doesn’t quite count π You used styrofoam instead of cake on those π This is my first ‘for real’ wedding cake, lol!
Beautiful cake!!!!!! If I liked chocolate, I would say it looks delicious too. π
Lol, Brianna! You don’t like chocolate?!!! How tragic! π (jk!)
Wow Jessica you are so clever,I have never seen such beautiful cakes, you have a real talent from the Lord,is this the wedding your sisiter is making Bridesmaid dresses for? You are very talented girls,
God bless you all.
Thank you, Aileen! Yes, the dresses were for the same wedding…have you seen any pictures of them? they are adorable π
I would love to see the dresses.
Wonderful job Jessica! You are making me hungry for chocolate cake! I know they girls that wore those pretty pink dresses and I bet they looked really cute! See you tomorrow!
That looks amazing! If you lived a little closer to Nebraska and I had a special event coming up, I would definitely want you to be my baker! Your cake looks even better than the chocolate strawberry cake picture you based it on!
Lol! Thanks Jessica! π I didn’t think it looked as good as the picture, but then I know where every lump and bump is on that cake π
Such a beautiful cake Jessica.
You are so very talented at sewing and baking. You should be so proud.
And now thanks to you and this cake, I am craving chocolate. Sure wished we lived closer;))
The cake turned out beautifully! Well done! π Have a blessed week ahead!
WOW! Did you make those?! They were all beautiful! (I know for sure that you made the first one with the strawberries! :D) Good work! Do you have a business doing that?? Great job! I’m really impressed!
