Thank you all for praying for our friend, Meredith! We heard yesterday that they found out she doesn’t have just one tumor, but two! That is the bad news. However, there is some really good news, too, as her short term memory is coming back! Praise the Lord! We’ve copied and pasted the prayer chain letters here so you can read about all the particulars 🙂
“The tumor analysis came back, showing two different types of tumors. The first was the anaplastic astrocytoma that they knew about. The second, is called primative neural ectodermal tumor, or PNET. This is an aggresive tumor, where cells tend to break off and grow in the spine. The combination of tumors is unusual. By itself, PNET has a 40-60% survival rate, but with the other tumor, doctors are not sure how the prognosis is affected. They are sending more tissue to Johns Hopkins for a second opinion.
Meredith is doing well today – perkier, talking, eating, drinking. Praise our God!”
And…
“After physical therapists evaluated Meredith yesterday, she has made a lot of progress! Susan found her sitting up in a recliner, she walked down the hallway and back, dressed in regular clothes, and thoroughly enjoyed visitors today, even after she was visibly tired.
Meredith still has most of her beautiful, VERY long hair, but being on bedrest for two weeks has added quite a few tangles. An aid took her into a treatment room yesterday, before her surgery and worked on a section of hair FOR FIVE HOURS, smoothing and removing tangles. That part has been braided again. When her head is not tender from yesterday’s surgery, they will finish the process with the remaining strands.
The best news is that she seems to be recovering some of her short term memory! Today she remembered the aid who worked on her hair. She also told her mom that she didn’t need to re-read a card to her because she saw that one yesterday. God is in the healing business!”

Mom, Emily, Nat, Isaiah, and I were able to go down and visit her yesterday. It was so good to see her.
Didn’t you all go down Sunday?
Oh good! Glad you got to see her! I’m sure she really enjoyed your visit. 🙂
Yep, we went down last Sunday, I’m so thankful that it worked out, it was a long day, and drive, but so worth it!

Praying harder than ever.
I’m so glad to hear that there is some positive news (even with the negative) and will continue to lift Meredith and her family in prayer.
