We arrived late at our friends, the Ours, Β in Georgia…

Here’s a daytime view of their beautiful house! Β They had literally just moved in not that long before we came, but they were so nice to let us come stay, even though they weren’t all settled yet πŸ˜€

Some more Spanish Moss (and pretty scenery!)

Mommy and Mrs. Ours enjoying breakfast on the patio

We all got to eat outside on the patio…it was great!

Their watch-dog…er…lion πŸ˜€ Β He doesn’t bite!

Before we left, we sang for them, too πŸ˜‰

Hannah, Mrs. Ours, and Bethany Β πŸ™‚

It was while we were leaving their neighborhood that we saw our very first real live alligator!!! πŸ˜€

Something else that was neat to see down South was the cotton fields…we saw them harvesting some of it, and a big bale of it was being put into a truck as we drove by…

Our next stop–Sherwood Baptist Church, the maker of the movies Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Fireproof, and Courageous πŸ˜€

This is Sherwood’s prayer tower…their goal is to have someone praying there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Β Prayer is very much a part of their ministry, and every movie they make is covered in prayer

Here we’re waiting Β for Marie, the young lady who did all the Courageous updates, to let us into the church πŸ˜€ Β We realized when we walked up here that this is where Jay Austin in Flywheel met with the pastor to make restitution. It was kind of fun to be in a spot that was one the movie πŸ˜€

While we were waiting, we saw this gecko-lizard-thingy πŸ˜€

This is the foyer area of their church…Marie is in the pink sweater πŸ™‚ Β It was fun meeting her, too. After seeing her in all the updates, it was like meeting a celebrity πŸ˜€

In the sanctuary…

We saw several people we recognized from the movies…as we were walking down one hallway, Stephen Kendrick came through a door, said hi, and was gone πŸ˜€ Β Then we saw “Bobby Lee Duke” (Jim McBride), and while we were in their bookstore some of the girls saw Ken Bevel (“Michael” in Fireproof)…the only person we actually met (besides saying ‘hi’ as we passed each other) was Tracy Goode (“Brady Owens” from Facing the Giants). Β It was only for a short little bit before he got onto the elevator, but it was fun (and he’s just as funny in real life as he is in the movies!)

Here’s a movie poster that was hanging in their bookstore that several of the actors/producers signed…

It was so neat to see all their signatures!

We thought this card was cute πŸ˜€

Before we left, we got a picture with Marie…

…then we left to head for some friends’ house near Atlanta where we spent the night before heading for the Smokies πŸ˜€ Β By this time, some of us were starting to be ready to be home, the others were just trying to enjoy every drop before we had to go back! Β The Smokies were our last stop…and tomorrow will be our last post in this ‘series’ πŸ™‚

How awesome! It’s so fun to meet “celebrities” even if they aren’t really famous! πŸ˜€ My brother and I got to meet Jim Wiess and Andrew Pudewa at a homeschool conference! We were so excited, and got Jim Weiss’ autograph!

So I was scrolling along down through your blog posts when my eye caught something. I don’t know what made me stop but I say Sherwood Pictures. By then I had clicked the link and was reading the post. I hadn’t even realized that you had posted about visiting Sherwood Baptist! I didn’t even know you had been there! I was pleasantly surprised! I guess I haven’t been following your vacation as closely as I thought I had. πŸ˜• But anyway! I’m so happy that you got to visit the church! I wish I could someday. I can’t wait to see their newest movie Courageous. What was it like meeting (at least saying hi) to some of the people that had worked on the movies? Was it exciting to see them in real life? Did you get to meet their pastor? And did you get to see Alex Kendrick? πŸ˜€
    Blessings,
    Tulip

It was so funny to see them in real life! The younger girls especially were just giggling and giggling because they thought it was so funny πŸ˜€ I can still remember being in the bookstore and the girls running in and giggling and saying “We saw ‘Michael’ from Fireproof!!!” lol! No, unfortunately we didn’t get to see Alex or their pastor πŸ™ But we were still happy to have seen all the people that we did see! πŸ˜€
