…a finished quilt!!! 😀

We have a lot of quilts started, but have never actually finished one (not including doll quilts).

Back in January a friend of ours had a baby boy and we were invited to the baby shower, so this is what we made for him 🙂

A simple four patch quilt.  Some of the larger pieces have an animal embroidered onto it.

Anna, Rebekah and Charissa embroidered the animals and Jessica, Leah, Susannah and Cassia did everything else.

Well…

kinda.

Cassia quilted a couple of squares to say she helped with it 😀

Susannah cut it out and sewed the strips.

Leah sewed the strips together and did the binding.

All four quilted it.

Aren’t the animals cute?! 🙂

We even personalized it in the bottom corner 🙂

Doing this and watching The Art of Quilting (from Homestead Blessings) has inspired us to get back to working on our quilts.

Only…

we still haven’t pulled them out 😀

Wow!! That’s sooo pretty! How did the younger girls do sooo well with those animals? You should see my embroidering! You’d have to guess what it was! 😀 I wanted to get that sewing video by Homestead Blessings! Christian Book Distributors sells that! (I have the link on my blog.) Cut it out, Susannah! (Based on how she helped! 😉 )

I really like this! Soooooo cute. I especially like how you have combined the embroidered blocks with the patchwork blocks, you don’t have to do quite so much embroidery that way, but it still includes some. Clever!

It’s so easy to start a project like that, and then drop it when the newness wears off! Good for you for getting all the the way through!

By the way, I haven’t heard from Kelsye lately….is she okay? 😆

Hello~I found your blog through Rosies Ramblings. I purchased 11 dvd’s from Homestead Blessings with the West Ladies and my daughters and I have been working on this pattern to quilt. Your quilt came out lovely. I like the fabric colors that you chose. I homeschool all my daughters and the dvd’s have helped us make candles and soap etc. But quilting is our favorite. Thank you for all your tutorials. My daughters love them. God bless, Rose and daughters
