Seven Sisters Treasures

Quote of the Week

“Our response to God greatly determines His presence in our lives. The Lord wants to have fellowship with us, but He will not force a relationship upon us. We cannot reject fellowship with God and expect Him to remain near. He does not merely follow us throughout our day in case we need His assistance. It is an affront to sovereign God to treat Him like a servant who should wait upon us. God desires a close walk with us. He will make His presence real and personal if that is our desire.
Do you say you want to experience God’s presence while your actions reveal otherwise? If you say you want to know God better but neglect studying His Word, are you truly seeking Him? Have you regularly forsaken the place of prayer?
We are to continually seek Him, not content to enter a new day without the assurance that God is walking beside us.”

Go HERE to see a fun video made by Kendra and her sister Heidi 🙂 We tried embedding it into the post here, but it wasn’t working out 😛  😀   We love how Kendra’s younger sister makes all the faces while  her older sister is ‘crying’  😀

 The Recipe Box

Brownie Mallow Bars

these are oh, so yummy!

You need:

Your favorite brownie mix or brownie recipe

1 pkg. (10 oz.) mini marshmallows

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1 c. peanut butter

1 T. butter

1-1/2 c. crisp rice cereal

Prepare your favorite brownie recipe and bake according to the recipe directions.  Top with marshmallows and bake at 350° for 3 minutes longer (marshmallows will not be completely melted).  Cool on a wire rack.

In a saucepan, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter.  Cook and stir over low heat until smooth.  Remove from the heat; stir in cereal.  Spread over brownies.  Refrigerate for 1-2 hours or until firm before cutting.  Yields 2 /12 dozen.

The Write Stuff

“…Since I have investigated all the reports in close detail, starting from the story’s beginning, I decided to write it all out for you, most honorable Theophilus, so you can know beyond a shadow of a doubt the reliability of what you were taught.”  (Lk. 1:3-4 MSG)

We wonder who Theophilus was and where Theophilus lived and if Theophilus found it unusual to receive a two-volume letter.  We wonder what convinced Luke to rivet himself to his wooden chair near a shuttered window long enough to write a gospel.  What prompted Dr. Luke to exchange his scalpel for the pen, the crowds for the quiet corner?  When did he perceive his assignment as a kingdom scribe?

We wonder because we’ve wondered if God would use us to do the same…”  (read more)

Cute Quotes

You may remember this song that we had posted on our blog awhile back.  Well, Isaiah was having a bath and wanted to play with a Noah’s Ark bathtub toy we have.  For some reason it was in the living room and since he was already in the tub, he asked Jessica “Can you  get the Noah, Noah built an ark he made it out of gopher bark for me to play with?”

Isaiah came downstairs and told Mommy,

“I saw a carmel (cardinal) outside the window in our room and I made a lot  o’ noise and it went “hoo, HOO, hoo – hoo, HOO, hoo!”  and if flew away!”

We figured out that he had seen a dove, not a ‘carmel’ 😀

Isaiah:  “The USP (UPS)  came and we thought that it was Anna’s dollhouse people but it wasn’t!”
