Here we are at the Statue of Liberty!Β  When we first got a glimpse of it from the road, we were so excited!

We also *got* to drive through downtown Manhattan which was fun for us girls, but a little stressful for our driver and navigator (Daddy and Mommy!)Β  We went under the Hudson River through a tunnel, too!

We went to Liberty State Park and took lots of pictures and had a nice relaxing time looking over the water at Liberty πŸ˜€ The wind was outrageous, (which we LOVED!Β  We never get wind like this in Indiana!) as you we be able to tell from the video…hopefully you can make out most of what we were saying!

‘Tis time to go to bed, so we’d better sign off for now!

P.S. Thanks for all your wonderful comments!Β  We love reading them at the end of the day (when we are able to hook up to some WiFi somewhere :D)

Did you see Ellis Island too? (When I went to NY several years ago I went to both, but I thought Liberty Island was much more interesting.)

What did you think of the size of the Statue of Liberty? It always seemed bigger to me in the pictures.

Have fun in the Big Apple!

It seemed closer to shore than what I thought, and we didn’t realize that the “pedestal” that she stands on is as tall as she is! You’re right, it certainly does look bigger in pictures!

We saw Ellis Island, but didn’t actually take a ferry out to either island since we didn’t really have a lot of time. We walked by the CRR-NJ Terminal, where many of the immigrants took a train to their new home…that was so neat!

Wow! The staute of Liberty!! That’s great that you got to go to the staute ! πŸ™‚ Was it big? have you ever heard the saying, Pictures don’t always tell the truth! πŸ™‚ and it’s true!
Here is a riddle for you about the staute of Liberty πŸ™‚

Why does the staute of Liberty stand in the New York Harbor? πŸ™‚
    I’ll answer it later πŸ™‚

By reading the comments, are you going to Big apple? are you going to go to Time Square also? I have never been to New York, but would like to go there someday.

Hee Hee πŸ™‚ No more rice crispies left πŸ˜€ Same here πŸ™‚ I made a whole bunch yesterday for cell group and they were gone in no time πŸ™‚ My dad said he is not a big fan of Rice crispie cereal and not a big fan of marshmallows either, but when you put the 2 together it makes a great treat. Have you ever noticed that when you pour milk over rice crispy cereal it goes, “Snap, Crackle, Pop!” I guess that is where they got the names for those funny little people on the front. πŸ™‚

Did I ever tell you that it was a year ago on the 27 of September that WE had come back from a 2 1/2 week road trip? Yep! We drove WEST. πŸ™‚ Out to Colorado to visit family. Our Great Grandpa had Alzheimer’s and was going down hill fast. It was a week after we got home that he died πŸ™ RIP πŸ™‚

Ooo my I have been sitting here typing you forever! You probably enjoy it though! Just gives another piece of the puzzle away to you on how I talk! {{[sigh}}} Jessica, by looking at your profile under The Farmgirls I saw that you talk too! πŸ™‚ Uh oh πŸ™‚

    Happy traveling! πŸ™‚

    Anyway, have to run!

LOL! Sounds like we might be in trouble! πŸ˜† Or maybe we’ll just have a lot of fun! No, we didn’t really see much in New York because we didn’t have a lot of time, but we did get to drive through part of it πŸ˜€ We saw the Empire State Building, but it’s “head was in the clouds” and we couldn’t see the very top πŸ™‚

P.S. Yes! We love long comments! πŸ˜€

Hey there, now you’re in my neck of the woods (I’m from CT)! I’ve been to NYC plenty of times lol. I’m actually just planning a day-trip to Ellis Island with a friend b/c we’ve just never gone there.

Yes it is windy there, but it was exceptionally windy b/c we’re having a huge storm front hit this coast….lots of wind and rain!!

Make sure you do a good post on CT when you visit. No one ever comes here hahaha.
