“Personal worship is an absolute necessity for all relationships and all of life. It comes down to this: If I stop receiving from God, I start demanding from others. Instead of appreciating and loving and serving others, I become disappointed in them. Instead of cherishing the people in my life, I become critical and focused on their shortcomings. I take out my frustrations with a less-than-perfect life and somehow blame others for my lack of fulfillment. When I am not receiving from God, I look to other things and people to fulfill my desires, satisfy my longings, and complete my life.
“But when my heart gets filled by God’s love and acceptance, I’m set free to love instead of worrying about being loved. I’m motivated to serve instead of becoming obsessed about whether I’m being served. I’m moved to cherish instead of feeling unappreciated…”

We dicovered that Fred likes goats! Every time we take him near their pen he gets all excited and whines to get in there with them. In this video, you’ll get to see him “herd” the goats 😀

Since it’s “cucumber time”, we’d thought we’d share one of our favorite pickle recipes 😀
Sweet Dill Sticks
4 lbs. cucumbers, sliced lengthwise and trimmed to fit into a pint-sized canning jar.
Dill seed
1 quart water
3 3/4 c. apple cider vinegar
6 c. sugar
3 T. salt
2 t. turmeric (scant)
3/4 t. dry mustard
Fill 12 pint jars with cucumbers, and add 1/2 tsp. of dill seed to each jar. Combine remaining ingredients together in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil and pour over the cucumbers. Leave a 1/2 inch headspace. Heat 12 canning lids in boiling water for approx. 1 minute. Wipe rims clean and adjust two-piece canning lids. Process in a boiling water bath for 5 min. Makes 12 quarts.
Feelin’ Feminine is having a Jane Austen Tour! You probably couldn’t call us Jane Austen fans, but we absolutely love old fashioned things! Be sure to check out the neat contests you can enter over there, not to mention the articles on it all 😀
Green Parking Spaces???
Wendy, a T-Tapp friend of Mommy’s, took a picture of these absurd parking spaces at the new library in Houston, TX 😀
What happened to the “Parking for Moms of Small Children”?! Not to mention…why are the fuel efficient vehicles getting the closer parking space when the not-so-green cars have to drive farther out, and therefore, use more gasoline?! Oh dear! This was hilarious!!!
Thanks for sharing this with us, Wendy! We got a good laugh out of it! 😀
We recently found this lady’s blog…oh, we LOVE her little cottage! Daddy, can you make us one?!
On the way home from church there was a stoplight that wasn’t working. Noah asked Leah, “How did the stop light ran out?”
Not much farther down the road, a Praire Farms semi truck went past us with a picture of two cows on the back.
Noah said, “Look! That semi carries cows! does it?”
Susannah told him it carried things made from cows milk like yogurt and ice cream and it showed a picture of cows just so you know it’s made from cows milk and not from sheep’s or camel’s milk 😀
Noah replied, “Huh-uh! It has cows!” and continued to argue that it carried cows!
While we were at the fair, Isaiah was watching the llamas and asked,
“Leah, why are the llamas not talking?”

They put the parking spaces there to encourage people to drive ‘green.’ 🙂 “See, if you get a ‘green’ car, you can have a front-row seat!” What a bribe! 😉 (Not mentioning the fact that those green cars take up more energy to build than normal cars, so it makes up for the energy they supposedly save…………) 😀
LOL 😀
I would always say to Mom when she was pregnant with her eighth and Dad was in Saudi Arabia that they should have a special parking place at the YMCA for her so she wouldn’t have to walk as far with all us. 😀
A grocery store near us has parking for “Expectant Mothers and Moms of Small Children” and the lines are painted pink and blue 😀
I just have to say that I love the dress that Anna made! It is just beautiful!!!! I also really enjoyed watching another “behind the scenes” video, and I’m greatly looking forward to the next one! 🙂
