Quote of the Week

“Men go abroad to wonder at the height of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars; and they pass by themselves without wondering.”

The Recipe Box

Puppy Chow

This is a favorite that we always make for New Year’s Eve!

1 stick butter (1/2 c.)

16 oz. chocolate chips

1/2 c. peanut butter

12 c. Crispix cereal

2 c. powdered sugar

Melt butter and chocolate chips together, being careful not to burn the chocolate.  Mix in peanut butter and pour over cereal.  Mix well. Put powdered sugar in a large container with a lid or a brown bag and pour cereal mixture into it.  Shake well until powdered sugar is used up.

Project X

Several years ago Daddy bought a kerosene lamp for Susannah at an auction for her birthday.  It needed cleaned up, so Daddy asked if I could clean it for him.
He used to write out different jobs on a notepad for each of us to do during the day (you know, the odd jobs that never get done!) and in my spot it said “Work on Project X”  since we didn’t want Susannah to find out about it until her birthday, of course : D   Nobody but Daddy and Mommy and I knew what “Project X” was–it was so much fun!
And so now…that is what we are going to call the project that we were telling you about in our last post.  You’ll find out it’s real name on February 1st .  But keep checking…we might have a few clues between now and the 1st of February!  Here’s your first clue:  It’s in the title of our last post.  6th word, 1st letter of that word.  Okay, now remember that…you’ll get more clue’s later 🙂

Cute Quotes

One day we overheard Noah saying, “Bekah!  I saw a spider! It was a big bulky one!”

When Isaiah is hungry and wants to eat, he asks, “Will you food me?” or sometimes he has asked, “Will you eat me?!”

Isaiah: “I turn off peter!”

Note:  ‘peter’ is ‘computer’ .

Yippee for another 'treasures' post! I love those things! The… St. Augistine was it? Anyway, the quote is a good one:) I like it very much:D

The hotdog movie is gross! But I'm afraid I won't be disuaded that easily! It may look un-appetizing, but I shall stick by hotdogs in their hour of banishment! 🙂

The kiddie quotes are cute, as usual:D How could they not be?!

    Love and hugs!
