I found Young Maidens Daybook off of a blog, and thought that it would be fun to try. But, I decided to add the "From the kitchen" to it. Just because I am young, doesn’t mean I don’t cook!!! ๐
Today…March 16th 2009
Outside my window…Is a delightful day!! Maybe I should go out after lunch and rake the yard a bit! : ) The sun is shining, and it is 60 degrees in the sun!!! Warmest it has been for awhile.
I am thinking…That I should make some more fudge–we ate up what I made last week! : ) And, that I ought to get a pair of shoes for outside–my size of shoes don’t grow in trees…or should I say, Wal-Marts and K-Marts! ๐
I am thankful for…Our barn that is still in one piece. It has been a year last Friday since it caught fire. Don’t worry, a post of it is coming soon ๐
I am wearing…My green and blue jumper that has rosebuds all over it with a white shirt. And white ankle socks with my shoes.
I am reading…My Bible–Philippians, 1st Kings, Proverbs, and Psalms. Also, "Barbara Bush", and "Getting The Most From Your Llama" that I got from the library through ILL. It is due next week, so I am trying to get that finished. I just finished reading "Fireproof" and "Multiple Bles8ings".
I am creating…My 4-H dress. Starting early for once!!! I tat a little every day too. And my sewing business website that I hope to have going soon!!
From the kitchen…Black beans!!! I love cooking and eating beans that are not from a can!! Tonight is black bean and rice burritos. Also from the kitchen…lunch time!!!
One of my favorite things…Baby goats nibbling on my fingers. And, just baby goats, period!
For education this week…I am starting a new science book, and I hope to do more history and Spanish then I did last week. History is one of my favorite subjects! A really neat website we found is history.com where you can spend hours just looking!!! : )
A keeper at home skill I am using/learning …Cooking, sewing, and such ๐ Nothing in particular right now. One that I want to learn is how to put in a zipper and have it mastered enough so that it is as easy as button holes!!! Hmmm….that may take awhile! ๐
A spiritual lesson I’m learning…Praying–a quote that we have on one of our calendars say, "The busier the day, the more you need to pray". I don’t think that those were the exact words though. Often, people think "oh, I am so busy today, I think I’ll skip praying since it takes so long!" Which is the opposite of what we should do!
A godly character trait I plan to work on…Serving.
Scripture I am memorizing…Finishing Psalm 91 and am starting on James 1.
I am praying for…That I will have more patience with my younger siblings!
For the rest of the week…Going to the dentist tomorrow, helping Daddy (along with 3 of my sisters) to get the rest of the 3 loads of the wood (or was it 4?), help rake the yard as my part of buying a Spanish program, write a few letters, write a paper for our next 4-H club since I am secretary, anything else you want to add to the list? ๐
A picture I’d like to share…
One who thinks that he is king of the barn–and yard too. And I might as well add the driveway and cars!

Thank you for participating in this! I enjoyed reading your entry. I liked visiting your (and your sisters') blog ๐
The pictures were encouraging, seeing you all in dresses.
Do you make all your clothes? We do.
My afghan(s) I'm making are crocheted.
I'm to begin a crochet business (Lord willing) after I graduate in June. It's neat that you have an online sewing business ๐
I hope you have a nice dentist appointment tomorrow.
Have a great week!

What science book are you starting? Did you end up using Jay Wiles? Putting zippers in is really not that hard. I used to think it was too. But I did SOO many of them doing Christmas presents…that now I think they're easier than button holes and buttons :).
I think there was another question I was going to ask you or comment….lemme go look at the post again, I'll be back ๐
Now I remember…Yay for James 1!! It's a really fun one to memorize. As are James 2 and 3 and 4 :). Chapter 5 didn't seem as easy, but it was easy enough :). It should help that we've just been hearing Pastor preach on all these verses. I had it done before he preached…but I was SOO thankful he preaced on that book, because it made the meaning of everything really stand out!!
OK enough for now! KD
I didn't know that you were starting a business. ๐
You need to tell me these things! jk!
hope it goes well!
