Well now, who is this? 😀

Fireproof Teaser Trailer

What was written under the movie on their facebook page:

“I found this old video on my computer. This is what you do when you have to make a movie teaser trailer and you have absolutely no footage shot yet. Enjoy!”

This is a re-post of this recipe–just because it’s pumpkin season and oh so yummy!

Sugar Cookie “Crust” Recipe:

1/3 c. butter

1/3 c. shortening

2 c. flour

3/4 c. sugar

1 T. milk

1 t. baking powder

1 t. vanilla

dash salt

In a large bowl beat butter and shortening with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 or until softened.  Add about half the flour.  Add sugar, egg, milk, baking powder, vanilla, and salt.  Beat until combined.  Beat or stir in remaining flour.  Roll out dough onto an ungreased baking sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 8 min. or until lightly browned.  Let cool.  Crumble into small pieces.

Pumpkin Ice Cream Mixture:

2-15 oz. cans pure pumpkin puree (or about 3 1/2 c. of homemade cooked pumpkin puree, well-drained)

3 c. heavy whipping cream (if you don’t want the ice cream quite so rich, try 2 c. whipping cream and 1 c. milk)

1 c. sugar

1/2 light brown sugar

1 t. salt

1 1/2 to 2 t. cinnamon

1/2 t. ginger

1/2 t. nutmeg

1/2 t. cloves

About 3 to 4 cups of the crumbled sugar cookie crust

Place pumpkin puree into a strainer lined with cheesecloth for 15 min. to drain any excess water.  Gently heat heavy cream and sugars until small bubbles form around the edge of the pan, stirring often.  Do not boil. Remove from heat and whisk until the sugar is dissolved.  Let cool to room temperature (I cooled mine in the freezer to make it cool faster : ).  Beat pumpkin, sweetened cream mixture, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves with an electric mixer on med/high speed for 3 minutes.  Pour mixture into an ice cream machine and freeze for 20 minutes, adding the crumbled cookie pieces during the last 5 min. of freezing.  Makes 2 quarts.

A few days ago, Noah and Jessica were playing with, and occasionally tickling each other.  Noah wanted Jessica to do “come closer”, and to convince her promised, ” I won’t tickle you!  I promise, no maybes, nothing quiet, nothing loud, nothing at all, I mean it!” 😀

(Nothing quiet, nothing loud, nothing at all refers to saying “I won’t tickle!” and then quietly whispering to yourself “actually I will!” or some other thing that contradicts what you just said.  A very complicated way of saying “I promise, cross my heart” which we never say anymore anyways! :D)

While in Florida, Charissa declared in true farmgirl style, “This is the kind of weather you pull weeds in!”

Though at another time, we were slightly concerned she’d been in the city for too long 😀  We had just spent several days in some big cities, like downtown Manhattan, and Boston, and were driving to a family’s home that in an area a lot more like home.  It was dusky, and we saw a pasture with animals in it.

 Charissa exclaimed, “Look!  Sheep!”

Somebody replied, “No Charissa!  Those are cows!”

A few evenings ago, Noah and Isaiah were getting some gummy-bear vitamins and Cassia overheard Noah tell Isaiah, “Hurry! Go get the green dumpster truck before I do!”  Cassia was wondering what was up, so she asked, “Noah, what’s up your sleeve?”

He started feeling his sleeves and said, “I don’t feel anything.”

Btw, did Susannah go to IL for a music college? ONE of you did…I think it ’twas Susannah…because YOU WERE ON THE DUGGAR’S “19 KIDS AND COUNTING” TV SHOW!!!

I admit, I screamed. We all screamed. Then we had to go back and watch it again. 😉 lol

Wish we could be a’seeing each other in real life….although seeing you on national television was quite as thrilling, it wasn’t the same. 😉 Heehee!!

Yes, we (Jessica, Leah, Susannah and Cassia) went to that MusiCollege. But it was Cassia you saw on the Duggar show 😀

That is too fun! I have to admit it kindof funny because I’ve never met you in person but I got excited about seeing someone I “know” on the show! 🙂

I would love to hear some details about the MusiCollege (especially since you mentioned how it was such a well thought and prayed about decision beforehand!). While you were there did you get to meet the Duggar or Bates girls?

Your were on that show? What episode? (I don’t really watch that show, but I’ll look it up on Hulu!) That’s pretty exciting!
