Now don’t panic, the 911 call was made five years ago, the eye trouble was fixed within the blink of an eye, and the rest, well it’s just some old pictures we were going through and thought we’d share with you!

So, now that your heart rate is back to normal here we go!

Five years ago today, our wonderful 100 year old barn caught fire. And then our wonderful fire department came to our house as fast as they could, and they sat down to milk and cookies! WellΒ not really, they did what firemen do, they put out the fire, and thus our barn was no longer on fire and twas saved! Yay!

The big monster bite! πŸ™‚ This is where it all started, the baby goats had a heat lamp, and it got knocked around so that it was pointing straight at the wall. πŸ˜›

A new window the firemen made for us! πŸ˜‰

Looking back, you can definitely see God’s hand in this! We were actually supposed to be gone that day visiting some friends, but for some reason we canceled and went the next day. One fireman said that it was the first barn he remembered them saving in a long time, he also said if they had been 10 minutes later, we’d have lost our barn! :O

The next day, early in the morning we left for our friends house and one of the younger girls drew/wrote this on the van window. Yes, Hooray is spelled wrong. πŸ˜‰

As for the eye trouble,Β a couple of us were having troubles seeing.

Bekah

Cassia

The “eye” was off of a receipt that had different adds on the back of it. So we cut it out and had some fun with it! πŸ™‚

Anna

And now for some random old pictures…

Isaiah and Noah.Β When I first saw this picture I was like “Oh my!” they look so much younger! And someone needs a haircut! πŸ˜‰

Bekah and Charissa with some baby goats.

A bit blurry but Isaiah was so cute I had to include it.

Noah and Isaiah…man! Isaiah was chubby!

Anna

Charissa, we were having a porch picnic.

And to end this post, an old family picture! πŸ™‚

Wow! It has been that long already! Hard to believe. And Anna was still shorter than me ( and should be still πŸ˜€ ) .

I love the baby goat picture with your sisters! What are they wearing? One of our goats, Eva, is going to kid and I bet those clothes would look really cute on them! (I’m kind of excited. This is our first time breeding goats, we just got them last August)

They are sweatshirt sleeves that we’ve cut off to make little shirts for them to help keep them warm πŸ˜€ The ribbed part of the sleeve is where their head goes through, then we cut holes for their front legs πŸ˜€ That’s exciting about your goats! Baby goats are so much fun πŸ˜€

Hoory for the firemen! So glad the barn didn’t burn down – it’s incredible how God works those things together, isn’t it?

Man, those eye things really took me by surprise – especially Cassia! And your little brothers were so cute (still are!)

I LOVE ya’lls blog! I’m so thankful that ya’ll didn’t make this one private too!!! In fact, I just found out about this one tonight. A friend of mine(you can email me for the name of my friend if you want) gave me this link and told me to try it and see if it was private, oh I am so grateful that it is still open to the public! I LOVE all the pictures that ya’ll post, it looks like ya’ll just have the best time! `The Easter picture that ya’ll posted is adorable, not all stuffy and posed. I definitely LOVE all the recipes I have tried from ya’ll and would love to see more of them on your blog if you are able to do that. The story about “A 911 Call, Eye Trouble & More!” was great, the Lord does work in mysterious ways and I believe that HE is what kept ya’ll home that day. Is the old barn still standing? It was just beautiful in the picture after the firemen got the fire out and if it is still standing, I know it is even more beautiful now! The hand tatted bookmark is lovely. I also loved the lace cover patterns that ya’ll had posted. They were simply gorgeous! The stitch work on the one that was being worked on was exquisite. I was always taught by my mamaw to quilt with very small stitches, the smaller the better, and the same thing in hand work for sewing. Well, I really had better get off of here. I truly enjoy your blog and I am now following this one.
    Hugs, Paula
